Robert Wendell Williamson, Sr., 60, passed away Monday, September 5, 2022 at Candler Hospital. Robert worked for the City of Savannah as a Crew Chief in the storm water department. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church, and attended Calvary Baptist Temple. He is preceded in death by his father, Bobby Ray Williamson, his sisters, Wanda McDermott and Audrey Pike.

His grandparents were Mary Robinson and Shelby Myrick of Savannah and Loyce Smith and Thomas Barrow of Pelham, Georgia. His brother Thomas Robinson Myrick also predeceased him. Shelby, called Sam by his family and old friends, graduated from Savannah High School. He served in the United States Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ticonderoga in Vietnam. A native of Savannah, he was born September 2, 1939, the son of the late Emory Speir Jenkins and Thelma Fields Jenkins. Serving the Savannah area for over 45 years as a pharmacist, Mr. Jenkins co-owned Don Auld’s and Windsor Pharmacy. He was a 1967 graduate of the University of Georgia and a U.S. Navy veteran who served on the USS Enterprise during the Bay of Pigs Invasion.
